Private House in Wiltshire

The restoration of a garden in a spectacular countryside setting near Bath involved the resiting of an access drive in a sensitive hillside landscape visible from the nearby AONB.  Despite local opposition, we managed to demonstrate to planners that we could minimise the impact of the drive and save a colony of resident slowworms. Our solution for the 1: 6 slope was a serpentine gravel and grass drive held in place using the latest cellular technology.  It was blended into the landscape using a central grass strip and mounded edges planted with meadow flowers and grasses and carefully positioned native trees.
